Beech Mountain Information Beech Mountain is an incorporated town, operated by a Council/Manager form of government. The town takes care of year-round maintenance of roads, weekly garbage collection, police and sewer systems. Well-trained volunteers provide full-time fire protection and first response EMS services. The town staff also administers building codes, zoning ordinances, tax collection, and sign ordinances. In addition to 14 of the highest ski slopes in eastern America, Beech Mountain also offers ice skating, sledding, ski kindergarten, a day nursery, and numerous restaurants. Ski Beech has the only detachable quad lift (three times faster than standard lifts) and approximately 33% more snowmaking than any other southern slope. In summer, an 18-hole championship golf course (the 2nd highest in eastern America) with long-range panoramic views, provides unequalled play. The Beech Mountain Club also maintains complete tennis facilities, an Olympic size swimming pool, a large recreation building, a seventy – child day camp center, a large outdoor pavilion and year-round recreation staff located on their 13-acre recreation park. The third club facility is a private ski lounge and parking area adjacent to the ski slopes. A new 1.2 million dollar restaurant is located at the golf course looking down on two fairways, the driving range, and Tennessee, Virginia, and North Carolina mountains. The town operates a 43-acre recreation park that includes a 7.5-acre lake stocked with trout, a children’s play area, softball field, indoor tennis courts, fitness center, indoor walking track, meeting area, boat dock and picnic shelter. Summer club activities include canoeing, bridge, daily exercise programs, day hikes & wildflower walks, golf & tennis tournaments and clinics, evening poolside dances, and daily excursion trips. Our community is quite large, with over 6,000 acres (twice the size of Boone), boasting of over 68 miles of roads through 31 different subdivisions. Only 25 acres is zoned commercial. The rest of our town is entirely residential and recreational. When you visit Beech Mountain, we will be able to work with all of the properties of the different offices in our community. About the Beech Mountain ClubThe Beech Mountain Club is a family-oriented four-season social and recreational private club whose purpose is to create a sense of community among its membership and enhance the quality of life by providing the highest quality of services and fiscally responsible manner. Club facilitiesFitness Center -The fitness center has resistance and cardiovascular equipment for year round use by members and their guests. Golf Course - The club is blessed with an 18-hole golf course designed by Willard Byrd stretching 6,079 yards over beautiful mountain terrain. The golf season typically runs from May through October Clubhouse - Perched on a rock overlooking the 10th and 14th holes of the golf course is a new two-story clubhouse facility appropriately designed to accommodate members and their guests desiring diverse dining experiences. Views from the clubhouse provide splendid panoramic Blue Ridge Mountain scenes and on a clear day, mountain peaks in Tennessee, Virginia and West Virginia are visible. Fairway Cafe - Outdoor open air cafe located between the nines adjacent to the newly renovated putting green. Convenient sandwich menu served daily during the season. Tennis - In addition to two all weather hard courts, the club provides eight Har-tru composition clay courts for the enjoyment of its members and their guests. Swimming Pool - A heated pool and wading pool are available for use from Memorial Day to Labor Day. The pool is heated to 82 degrees for the comfort of our members and their guests. Alpen Haus - Located on the ski slopes at Ski Beech is the winter clubhouse for members of the Beech Mountain Club. This facility provides a comfortable lounge with a snack bar, restroom facilities and lockers. In the summer months, the Alpen Haus is used for various recreation activities. Day Camp - From mid June until mid August, the club runs a day camp in a 1600 sq. foot building dedicated for this purpose. In addition to this building, there are two open-air huts for day campers to enjoy. |
